Diakon Community Services to distribute farm market vouchers for 2026

Pottsville, PA (Monday June 1, 2026)

As in previous years, Diakon Community Services is administering the 2026 Senior Farm Market Nutrition Program in Schuylkill County. This program, offered through the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, provides eligible older adults with vouchers to purchase fresh, locally grown produce from approved farm markets.

Vouchers will be available starting June 16, 2026, to eligible residents of Schuylkill County. To qualify, individuals must:

  • Be 60 years of age or older by December 31, 2026
  • Reside in Schuylkill County
  • Meet income guidelines:
    • $29,526 or less for a one-person household
    • $40,034 or less for a two-person household
      (Income includes interest, wages, Social Security, unemployment, and similar sources.)

Important Notes:

  • No application is needed. 
  • Vouchers will not be mailed.
  • If a senior cannot attend in person, a designated individual may pick up the vouchers on their behalf with a completed proxy form (maximum of four proxies per person). Proxy forms are available at www.diakon.org/community-services.
  • Only one set of vouchers is distributed per eligible person per year.
  • Eligible Schuylkill County residents must present ID.
  • Eligible Schuylkill County residents must sign the check register verifying they meet the age and income requirements. 
  • Residents of nursing homes or other residential facilities that provide meals are not eligible for this program.

Vouchers will be distributed on the following dates and senior center locations:

Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 16 – July 23 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

  • Mahanoy City: 138 West Centre Street
  • Pottsville: 201 North Centre Street
  • Schuylkill Haven: 340 Haven Street
  • Tremont: 139 Clay Street
