School-Based Outpatient Treatment

Diakon FLS School-Based Mental Health Treatment

School-based outpatient mental health services provide assessments and treatment for youth who are facing a range of mental, emotional and behavioral concerns. The school-based approach is designed to offer treatment in an easily accessible manner while simultaneously promoting the value of education.

Please note: Referrals are generated by the schools. We do not take referrals directly.

The program is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, with treatment authorized on the basis of medical necessity. Services are provided on a fee-for-service basis and are reimbursed by insurance.

Diakon Family Life Services accepts most major health insurance plans as well as funding through Pennsylvania’s medical assistance program (Medicaid).

Services can include individual, family and group therapy. Services may also include psychiatric evaluation and medication management services.

Diakon FLS School-Based Substance Abuse Treatment

School-based outpatient substance abuse services provide assessments and treatment interventions for youth who are actively using substances, have used substances in the past, have gotten in trouble at school or have a close family member struggling with substance use. Diakon Family Life Services is licensed to provide co-occurring treatment to address substance use and emotional/behavioral concerns. Diakon clinicians are trained in the utilization of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria in determining the appropriate level of care from the outset of treatment and on an ongoing basis for the duration of treatment.

This program is a waiver-program monitored through the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP). Services are provided on a fee-for-service basis and can be reimbursed through insurance.
