AmeriCorps Seniors is the largest volunteer network in the nation for people 55 and over. You can use the skills and talents you’ve learned over the years—or develop new ones —by serving in various capacities within your community.
Put your experience to work!
AmeriCorps shows you how to apply the skills and wisdom you’ve acquired throughout your life to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
AmeriCorps Seniors is America’s largest volunteer network for people 55 and over, with more than 300,000 volunteers serving nationwide. You choose how, where and when you want to serve, and whether you want to share skills you've acquired or develop new ones.
Giving back is good for you!
Seniors who frequently volunteer live longer and report better health. Volunteering can lead to new friendships, increased mental health and a more active lifestyle.

Healthy Futures
In Columbia and Montour counties, our focus is Healthy Futures. We are particularly focused on supporting adults 60 years and older to age in place, and to live independently as long as possible.
We match seniors with opportunities in their community to volunteer including but not limited to:
- Call homebound seniors once a week to help curb isolation in our community
- Call bingo, create crafts, or assist a resident in a local community garden
In addition to Healthy Futures, AmeriCorps Seniors matches volunteers with thousands of local and national organizations, affording economic opportunity in education, disaster relief, environmental stewardship and veteran and military families.
